Living vacation to vacation.

This has become my mantra. I even coined the hashtag for it, check out my Instagram here. My way of life has drastically changed living in one place for over three years as an adult. When Nashid and I were in YWAM, we were moving countries every three months. I was used to being on the go and exploring new places all the time. I appreciate having a home base here in Colorado and a job to get my butt to every day. I enjoy having a routine and nesting into a place I call my own. I love being close to family and having two little puppies to keep me company. I miss the travel. I miss the adventure involved in packing a bag and heading somewhere, anywhere.

I even covet the excitement of planning a vacation. Prepping for a trip, booking a flight and digging into the details is what gets me through the mundane day-to-day that is my adult life. I’m working 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. My job is stressful and I work hard to earn my commission checks. It’s rewarding and exciting to get paid based off my effort and abilities, but some times, it is NOT FUN. Having a trip to look forward to helps me stay sane. If I don’t have something booked, I feel uneasy. I start to bug Nashid about what our next getaway could be. I start cooking up our next adventure. My dreams take me to far off places. More often than not, I want to return to the happiest place on earth, Walt Disney World.

Nashid keeps me grounded by reminding me of the budget and our financial goals. It’s funny because I’m typically the one who wants to reign in our spending, but I just love vacations. I would choose to spend all our extra money on travel. I am so grateful for the adventure buddy that my husband has become. We met traveling the world and I’m convinced we’ll die traveling the world as well.

We’ll continue living vacation to vacation.
